Just Me & My Daughter

My daughter and I went to one of her best friends wedding this past weekend, and my daughter took this picture of us in the van before we left. I just love this picture of her and I.

Courtney's friend Sarah was such a beautiful bride and looked stunning in her wedding gown. When Sarah walked down the isle with her father I cried, not sad tears but happy ones. Courtney looked at me and said "mom, why do you have tears in your eyes?" I had watched Sarah grow up and when you see a girl turn into a woman and then get married it just makes you wonder where all the time went. I was so happy for her that she found someone like Kain to love her, she's a wonderful person.

Freebie

I was playing around in Photoshop and thought I would give a try to making a template. I know it's not that great right now, but this is my first template so I'm pretty proud of it. I was bored and had all my emails done so I actually had some time to play for a change. Normally I don't have a whole lot of time to play and learn due to owning a list and running a couple other ones, sure keeps your mailbox busy that's for sure.

The hubby's thumb is healing up quite nicely. He had been working with a circular saw and had an accident. Now we all know that the saw won that battle and hubby got cut pretty bad. Rushed him out to the ER and sat in the waiting room an hour before they said hum, I think we need to take you back and put some stitches in that for you..... duhh ya think??

Once he was finally back in the ER room the nurse just couldn't believe he still had his thumb since the injury was so severe. So she asks us for permission for the nursing students to come and watch how the doctor takes care of it, of course I said I didn't mind if hubby didn't. I didn't think there was going to be a roomfull of them either lol. I turned around and saw 6 nursing students all jam packed into this tiny ER room. I should have filmed it and put it on the daily news, then maybe someone would feel sorry for hubby and let us win the Lottery.... Hummm what I could do with all that money.

I hope you've enjoyed my tale about our trip to the "ER" room, it was quite an adventure. Now onto your freebie template. Be sure to leave me some "luv" if you like what you see on my blog.

Smiles

Keep Smiling
If at times you feel you want to cryAnd life seems such a trialAbove the clouds
there's a bright blue skySo make your tears a smile.
As you travel on life's wayWith its many ups and downs
Remember its quite true to sayOne smile is worth a dozen frowns.
Among the worlds expensive things A smile is very cheap
And when you give a smile away,
You get one back to keep.
Happiness comes at times to all
But sadness comes unbidden And sometimes
a few tears must fallAmong the laughter hidden.
So when friends have sadness on their face
And troubles round them piled
The world will seem a better placeAnd all because you smiled.

Troubling Day

I was sitting here at the computer today just trying to figure out what I wanted to do with this mini kit that I downloaded when all of a sudden I hear my husband yelling for me. I get the the living room and there he is with this rag around his hand and blood going everywhere. I totally flip because I knew he had been working on some wood in the garage with his circular saw so I knew it would be bad. He looks pale so I tell him to sit down and let me have a look....let's just say I looked and said get a wet rag and let's get to the ER and fast. We get there and don't ya know we had to wait an hour just to get back to see the doctor! I was NOT a happy person. Finally get to see the doctor and I thought the doctor was going to fall on the floor himself! He said he didn't know how the hubby still had his thumb attached with the way it looked. He said he would sew it the best he could, but he wasn't going to promise that he could close it like it should be because it was pretty chewed up. It took 7 stitches just in one area, and the other part, well he couldn't close it because there was no skin whatsoever there. The doctor said that his biggest threat is infection right now, so he has to keep it exceptionally clean. On top of all this I am going on no sleep at all, did I say NO sleep??? Yep, I'm seeing double by now and wanting to finish up this LO that I had started before all this excitment this morning. I finally finished it and now I'm ready for a nap. I think it turned out really awesome. I just love Alexis' kits and sketches, they are da bomb. Here's what I did with it.

Cool Dude

This is my son Dakota Le'Andrew. He is 16 years old. Dakota is a special needs child so he is always very demanding. He always wants to be like "others" when it comes to wearing his hat the wrong way. Dakota also has a great sense of humor and is always looking for a way to make others smile or laugh.

Mother's Are Special

My Friend Sue sent me some pictures of her dear Mother over the Mother's Day Holiday and I just had to use her pictures for my layout. Her mother is 84 years young and still puts on her own make-up to look so pretty. She's been married to her husband for 60 years! Now that's true love. Her dear husband Sully is 87 years old and is in the nursing home due to him being so ill. I think Sue's mother is just beautiful for her age and her skin, well I sure hope I look that young at her age. Thank you Sue for allowing me the use of your photos in my layouts.

Cooking Out

In the Spring/Summer months our family always gathers for little family get-togethers and cookout. The little ones get a chance to ride their power wheels and their bikes while the adults sit around and talk about the daily happenings. My brother-in-law Josh or my husband Joe usually does the cooking. The main foods they make are the burgers, hot dogs, and bratwurst links. We always have a really nice time and spend a few hours or more before we finally decide to go home. Everyone always has a plate to take home since there is always alot of left overs. I am new to Photoshop CS2 and this is my first LO I did using it. I'm having a bit of a time getting adjusted to using it as I am more used to Paintshop Pro. I do like the features in the CS2 more so than in Paintshop Pro.
Thank you for stopping by my blog to see my side of the world.
Have a good one.

Happy Mother's Day

Mother's Day always seems to be a hard one for me since loosing my Mother. My Mother passed away 12/3/06 at 3:00 pm due to renal failure because of diabetes. She went through so much and suffered such a long time with this horrible disease. She had been on renal dialysis for 3 years before her body just gave up, but during that time she sure did put up a fight because she didn't want to leave us. I know my Mother loved me so dearly, and her grandchildren were her life. I vowed that I would graduate with my G.E.D. before she would pass, so that she could see me walk across that stage, and that I was able to accomplish with such pride. I graduated at the top of Indiana's graduating class that year, and received top honors, and was chosen to be the Valedictorian for the whole graduating class. I was so proud of myself for my goal that I had reached as I know my Mother was too. I've never had a friend as special as my Mother was to me. My Mother and I were very close and had a bond that no other would ever dream of having. As you can tell I put my Mother up on a pedestal, she was the one person that was always there for me no matter what my troubles were. She was the type of woman that if you were hungry she would feed you, or if she knew someone needed something and she had it, then it was yours. My Mother grew up in a very large family, she had 12 brother's and sisters, so she grew up knowing hard times. Then she met the love of her life, my Father, and finally had a good life. Her and my Father divorced, but she told him she would love him till the day she died, and she held true to that promise, she was able to tell him she loved him before she passed away. My Father paid for her burial so that us kids wouldn't have to worry with that expense, and he gave her the most beautiful funeral anyone could ask for, she was burried as a princess should be burried. I know she would be proud of the way things were handled. Mom has no more pain now and is with our Lord up in Heaven. My Mother was a Christian and held her faith to the end. Knowing that she is in a much better place makes me feel at ease, but it doesn't take away the pain of not having her with me. Holidays are always hard, especially Mother's Day. I seen this quick page that Lexi did and just had to use it. The picture I have of mom isn't a very good one, but I did the best I could with what I had of her. I don't have alot of pictures of her left due to our flood we had back in 2005, I lost almost every photo I had of her. I just sat and cried for days because those were irreplaceable and it just broke my heart all over again.
Happy Mother's Day Mom, I will always love and miss you so very much.

Friendship

I finally found the love of a lifetime, the love of Friendship.
I met Sue online in a penpal online site about 8 years ago.
I have been to her home twice, and she's been here to visit me once as well.
Anytime I ever need anything, I know I can always call on her
and she will always be right there to lend a shoulder. Even when I am having a bad day
and am a tad bit on the grumpy side, you can bet that she's right there by my side.
Friends come and go but I know that I found a true friend that will never leave my side.
I love you Sue

A Summer Day

All the family always gathers for a cookout usually everyother weekend. It was quite a bit different this time without my mother-in-law there. We lost her last month due to sudden kidney failure. I'm always snapping pictures of my little nieces and some of the silly things they do. I decided to do a layout with my niece Hanna this time. She was wearing these sunglasses and just thought she was so "cool". She would wear them upside down and didn't want me to turn them right side up, but then I told her I wanted to get her pretty picture and then she was more then glad to let me turn them the right way lol. Here's the layout I did with her in it.
